Welcome our newest addition to the Lazy J broodmare band. This beautiful KWPN reg filly was unable to prove herself under saddle due to injuries as a foal. She is however sound now and we started her under saddle. She was extremely easy to start, very willing and lovely elastic gaits. We also thought we'd see how she would do free jumping and were most delighted to find that not only was she beautiful over fences but truly enjoyed it and we couldn't put the jump too high for her!!! We may present her to KWPN and AHS (possibly others) in 2012 for mare approvals and kuer status. She is KWPN full foalbook so her foals by approved KWPN stallions will receive Foalbook papers.
Brooklyn is out of Ode Aan Liris by the great stallion Argus! In 1988, Argus sired more 'Premium 1' foals than any other breeding stallion in the US. In two breeding seasons, the stallion has sired more premium 1 foals than all other stallions during their entire breeding careers in the United States. In 1989, four out of the ten highest placed foals at the selection were sired by Argus. Argus has a jumping index of 129 and a dressage index of 131. ARGUS' sports results include 1st place PCHSA Futures Finals for Jumping, and in 1989 finished in the top 5 in his first Grand Prix. He continued to prove himself as a jumper when he won the Grand Prix at Showpark of Delmar and the Sundance Grand Prix at the Arizona Winner Circuit in 1991. As a dressage horse, Argus held many titles including 1989 CDA Reserve Champion Fourth Level Horse of the Year and in 1990 and 1991 was one of the only horses to be competing successfully in both Grand Prix Jumping and FEI Dressage.

I absolutely adore her and couldn't ask for a better temperament. She would make a lovely hunter and if we decide not to breed her in the future she will be taken that direction. For now we have chosen to breed her to Hilltop's Riverman. The resulting foal from this cross will be presented to the KWPN for Reg A papers. We chose Riverman due to his amazing gaits and equally amazing jump. He has produced many wonderful hunter/jumpers as well as winners in many other disciplines. His superb conformation and talent should be a perfect match for Brooklyn. Plus the added "spark" from Riverman will be helpful, we hope in producing a more forward horse without losing the "in your pocket" temperament of the dam.
Brooklyn produced her first foal and what a spectacular foal it is. Welcome "Legs" our beautiful filly who will be taken to the KWPN keuring. More pics to come. Here is a spectacular hunter/jumper or event prospect!
